If you watched Avengers Infinity War, then you know there was no way that the Captain Marvel sign at the end of the movie credits was a coincidence.

Just recently we realized it wasn't a mistake either. After Avengers Infinity War hit theaters, Marvel released a statement about the new Captain Marvel movie coming out in 2019.

Captain Marvel is the first movie from the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) franchise to have a solo female lead. Although Marvel has had leading ladies before like Black Widow, Scarlet Witch, they've never had a solo movie with a female character like Captain Marvel.

Captain Marvel is a story about Carol Danvers (Brie Larson), a human who gets her genes spliced with those of a superpowered alien race known as the Kree, which gives her incredible superpowers. The movie picks up with Carol returning to Earth, only to find herself confronted by another alien society, the Skrulls. Which are a race of powerful shapeshifters known to infiltrate and destabilize planets by impersonating their inhabitants.

This much anticipated Marvel movie takes place in the 1990’s when S.H.I.E.L.D was just starting out. So expect to see a bunch of 90’s nostalgia and some young versions of our favorite characters, like Nick Fury.

Captain Marvel is set to come out on March 8, 2019, but if you can’t wait till then, click the link below to watch the new trailer and count down the days till this movie drops.
