1. Stanford University

Stanford University is probably one of the best-known colleges in the world. According to College Simply, this school gets about 45,000 applicants a year and only accepts 5% of them. If you are choosing to apply, make sure to have an SAT score of somewhere between 1430-1590. Even if you have this score, you still have a less than 8% chance of being accepted by this college. Another option to apply is by submitting your ACT scores. The ACT requirements are in between 31 and 35 and you still only have a 5%-8% chance of getting into the school.


2. California Institute of Technology

The California Institute of Technology is a school well known for natural science and engineering. The California Institute of Technology has an 8.1% acceptance rate, and generally admits students who score in the top one percent. For the SAT, you have to score in between 1540-1600 points, which gives you a 8%-13% chance of being accepted. If you are planning to apply with your ACT score, it has to be between 34 and 36 points, giving you a 5%-13% to get into Caltech. This is a really challenging school to get into.


3. Claremont McKenna College

Claremont McKenna College is a private college in Claremont, California. This school is known for economics, finance, international relations, public affairs, and government. It has a 9.4% acceptance rate. This college accepts students with a SAT score in a range of 1380-1520. If you score in this range, you have a 5%-14% chance of being accepted. Similar to Stanford, the ACT Requirements are between 31-33. In this range, you have a 5%-14% chance of being accepted into this outstanding college.


4. Pomona College

Pomona College, also located in Claremont, California, is known for its curriculum of the arts. This school has an acceptance rate of 9.4 %. This school takes an SAT score from 1400-1560, which gives an admission chance of 5%-14%. For ACT, the score is between 31-34 points, giving an admission chance of 6%-17% .


5. Harvey Mudd College

Harvey Mudd College is a science and engineering school located in Claremont, California that has the highest acceptance rate with 12.9% out of these five schools. SAT requirements for this college are in between 1470-1590. The admission chance with this score is 8%-20%. For ACT, the score is between 32-35 points. With these scores, the admission chance is 9%-23%.
