School Track & Field Record Broken for the 2nd Time This Season

by Coach McGaughey

This past weekend,  David Frisbie competed in the largest high school Track Invitational in the United States.  The meet drew elite athletes from all over the course try as well as Canada. Runners must qualify for this meet before they can compete.  David ran an outstanding race and broke the JFK school record for the second time this season. He shattered the previous record by 8 seconds. David ran a 9:16,  which is the fastest run in the MVAL this year and in the top 5 of the North Coast Section.

The next weekend David will be in Cerritos,  Ca,  competing in the 800 and 1600 meter runs.  This Wednesday he joins the rest of the team in a competition with Logan HS at 3:30. If you have never seen David run. Come out and watch the team.  We have a number of outstanding athletes this year so there are many exciting events.  David always puts on a great show and generally competes 3 -  4 events.  It will be worth the time,  I promise.
