The End Credits, They Roll

An artist is on the rise. J0nathan Ng, more widely known by his alias EDEN (formerly The Eden Project), is a singer, songwriter and musician from Dublin, Ireland. Known for his unique blends of indie, dream pop and electronic dance music, his music has made quite an impact in the indie pop genre. In 2015, he released his first self-produced studio album, which gained popularity very quickly and launched him into his musical career.

                Jonathon was born December 23rd, 1995 in Hong Kong, and raised in Dublin, Ireland. He was taught musical theory and classical violin as early as the age of 7, and later taught himself vocals, drums, piano, guitar, etc. He began composing his own music in his mid-teen years, being known by his previous alias The Eden Project. In April of 2015, he changed his name to EDEN for a fresh start on a new genre of music. He has also collaborated with other various artists such as Puppet, Pierce Fulton, and Ryan Hemsworth in a variety of songs.

                In the spring of 2015, he released his first studio album, the End Credits EP. Initially, two songs were written and released before the album, the first being “Nocturne” (June 26th), and the second being “Gravity” (July 15th). On August 8th, the EP released worldwide. The album consists of six songs with pop and future bass influences, and is complimented with gentle synth work. It has accumulated around 4.5 million plays on Soundcloud and Spotify with the song “End Credits” receiving over 1.6 million plays by itself.

                On November 23rd, 2015, he released a cover of Michael Jackson’s “Billie Jean,” adding his own style by using electronic influence and an array of organic instruments. When it was released on Spotify, it was played nearly 1 million times in the first week of release. From March 22nd to April 8th, 2016, EDEN announced he would begin his “End Credits Tour,” hosting venues in Dublin, London, Toronto, New York City, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. Tickets for the event were sold out within one week, and an additional venue was set up in New York due to high demand.

                EDEN has had a very successful career, and continues to produce new music as time goes on.
